JOB SUMMARY : The BMX Race Program Supervisor will oversee, continually develop, grow and manage the BMX Race Program at Woodward PA. Supervise all aspects of the BMX Race Program including staff, daily responsibilities, and develop a fun, interactive environment for campers. The BMX Race Program Supervisor will support the marketing, content, and development of the BMX Race Program sponsorship plan. The supervisor will help support the overall BMX Race industry relationships and developments.
This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations involved in running the BMX Race Program. This includes all scheduling, facilitating mandatory sessions, clinics, events and supervising all staff within the program. The BMX Race Program Supervisor will aid with parent-camper communications as needed
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Recruit, train, and develop staff
- Supervise 10-50 coaches, counselors, and zone coaches by scheduling, directing, and reviewing performance
- Execute proper disciplinary action if deemed necessary
- Support in leadership roles including cabin checks, orientation, registration and meetings
- Execute the BMX Race Programming Playbook, including but not limited to camper scheduling, progression, curriculum, and sport programs/events
- Continuously create and diversify the BMX Race Program to implement new ideas, competitions, and work practices
- Provide unique perspectives and feedback that aid in the development of the BMX Race Program
- Other Duties as Assigned
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: - Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate supervision, agile, and able to pivot quickly.
- Exhibits initiative, responsibility, and accountability.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS: - Preferred experience in leadership
- Preferred 3+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens.
- Experience working in a camp environment is preferred.
- Experience in action sports coaching required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS: - As a requirement of this position, pre-hire criminal history clearances are collected from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances are obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history is taken through FBI fingerprint screening.
- Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.
- Preferred availability: pre-camp and all summer camp weeks.
