Real Chemistry is looking for a Chief AI Officer to join our growing team!

We are seeking an innovative and strategic leader to lead our AI & transformation charge to join our team as the Chief AI Officer and help identify and scale opportunities to realize value using AI. This pivotal role involves working with our CEO and leadership team to establish a vision for how AI can transform Real Chemistry, driving the realization of that vision by integrating artificial intelligence and transformative technologies across our business and enabling functions, and radiating our vision and impact to clients and other external stakeholders, enhancing Real Chemistry’s leadership position in the market and ultimately accelerating value creation.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in AI strategy and a proven track record of leading digital transformation initiatives. They will focus on leveraging AI to solve business challenges and enhance operational efficiencies for both clients, in a regulated industry and employees.

This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.

What you’ll do:

Strategic AI Transformation and Leadership:

Architect and activate a bold vision for how AI can enhance every touchpoint in a brand’s lifecycle.

Turn business problems into innovation playgrounds—transforming challenges into data-fueled creative opportunities.

Develop and execute a strategic plan for AI integration across all relevant business functions.

Lead the transformation of processes through innovative AI solutions that can deliver quantum improvements in productivity.

Collaborate with senior leadership to align AI strategies with business objectives, focusing on addressing client-specific challenges.

Guide the execution of AI-driven tools and platforms to ensure they align with organizational goals and deliver significant business value.

Craft a compelling, differentiated AI strategy that positions Real Chemistry ahead of the curve in healthcare and communications.

Identify and prioritize key areas where AI (including GenAI and Agentic AI) can deliver a competitive edge—internally and for clients.

Anticipate technology evolution and ensure the organization is well-positioned to scale AI capabilities across solutions and sectors.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs and translate them into AI solutions.

Present AI transformation strategies to executive management, clients, and stakeholders.

Show the ROI of transformation with clarity, creativity, and measurable impact.

External Evangelist and Trusted Advisor:

Storytelling & Influence: Articulate complex AI topics in simple, relatable ways for internal stakeholders, clients, and external audiences.

Thought Leadership: Represent Real Chemistry at industry events, in media, and on panels as a visible authority in AI and healthcare innovation.

Client Advisory: Guide clients through their AI journey, from strategy to execution. Serve as a trusted expert helping clients adopt and deploy AI meaningfully.

Brand Builder: Cement Real Chemistry’s position as the agency leading the AI transformation across healthcare and marketing

Compliance and Ethics:

Ensure all AI initiatives comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards and are built with integrity--especially in regulated spaces like healthcare.

Champion responsible AI, balancing progress with privacy and ethics.

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing AI and transformation team and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Facilitate cross-functional teams to work on AI projects and initiatives in conjunction with the CIO and IT leadership.

Lead change management in partnership with IT and executive leadership to adopt and embrace transformational initiatives and build a strong culture of AI culture and transformation

Mentor and develop future leaders within the organization who can champion AI and digital transformation initiatives.

What you should have:

Total Professional Experience: At least 15 years of professional experience in technology, AI, or related fields. Experience in Health Care, Advertising, Communications, Public Relations Agency is a plus but not required.

Leadership Experience: At least 5 years senior leadership roles, involving strategic decision-making and leading digital transformation initiatives.

AI-Specific Experience: At least 5 years of direct experience with AI technologies, including developing and implementing AI strategies and solutions.

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.

Fluent in machine learning, predictive modeling, generative AI, agentic AI, and data analytics.

Extensive experience in AI technologies and digital transformation.

Strong leadership skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.

Demonstrated progressive leadership experience

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Pay Range: $320,000 - $350,000
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location. Working with Real HART: Since the pandemic, we have adapted to how our people told us they want to work. We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us. For employeeswho are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients. We are also actively opening new office locations, so if one opens near you, our Real HART policy will apply. We are not looking for attendance for the sake of attendance but believe that the opportunity to coordinate in-office team meetings, 1:1 meetings with managers, taking advantage of on-site learning, and connecting with client partnersis a critical to delivering on our purpose of making healthcare what it should be. Outside of these offices, we have regions, where people work remotely but come together quarterly for collaboration, culture and learning opportunities.
