Groundskeeper / Field Maintenance 

College of Saint Mary is seeking candidates for a Grounds/Field Maintenance position. This position performs the duties necessary to maintain the grounds of the campus, which includes Heritage Park (the softball and soccer fields) in an aesthetic and well-preserved manner.  

Requirements for This Position Include:

• High School diploma: Post high school education in landscaping preferred.


• At least one year grounds keeping experience.


• Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license.


• Must have a current chemical applicator certification or the ability to obtain one.  

This Position Is Responsible For:

• Mow, edge, trim, prune, water, and cleanup campus grounds as required.


• Prepare and maintain beds for shrubs, ground cover, etc.


• Pick up trash and other litter on the ground and dispose of it properly


• Chemically treat, fertilize, condition, and seed etc. as necessary.


• Remove snow from sidewalks and parking lots, and spread salt on sidewalks and parking lots during icy conditions.


• Assists with other tasks assigned to the Facilities Department through the work order system when weather necessitates.


• Attendance on campus is essential to this position.


• Perform other duties as assigned when directed to do so.
