Position Summary

The Deputy to the Executive Pastor of Creative/Experience serves as the principal support leader and second-in-command to the Executive Pastor. This individual will operate as a trusted extension of the Executive Pastor, ensuring alignment across teams, advancing key initiatives, and upholding the excellence, creativity, and spiritual integrity that define the New Birth experience. This position requires a competent, proactive, and spiritually grounded leader with exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Communication

● Serve as the primary liaison between the Executive Pastor and internal teams, ministry leaders, volunteers, and external partners.

● Represent the Executive Pastor in select meetings, communicating decisions, vision, and direction with accuracy and clarity.

● Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and alignment, ensuring Creative/Experience initiatives are executed with excellence.

Strategic Operations

● Assist in developing and driving execution on all Creative/Experience initiatives, including worship planning, production, service flow, and seasonal programming.

● Oversee assigned projects from ideation through execution, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and budgets are met.

● Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and proactively implement solutions to improve systems and outcomes.

Project & Event Management

● Plan and execute key events and experiences in collaboration with worship, production, communications, and hospitality teams.

● Support the Executive Pastor in developing creative concepts, content outlines, and logistical timelines for high-impact Sundays and events.

● Conduct post-event and post-project reviews to evaluate wins, challenges, and areas for growth.

Administrative & Executive Support

● Maintain a high-level understanding of all current projects, deadlines, and scheduling priorities for the

Executive Pastor.

● Manage communications, calendar coordination, meeting preparation, and travel planning as needed.

● Draft and edit correspondence, talking points, and creative briefs as requested.

Team Oversight & Volunteer Engagement

● Recruit, lead, and empower high-capacity volunteers and project teams aligned with Creative/Experience needs.

● Create a culture of excellence, creativity, collaboration, and accountability among teams under the Executive Pastor’s leadership.

● Support team development through regular check-ins, training initiatives, and spiritual encouragement.

Ministry Collaboration

● Partner with other ministry departments (Worship, Production, Communications, Youth, etc.) to ensure a cohesive, Spirit-led worship experience.

● Ensure that all messaging, visuals, and experiences remain aligned with the spiritual vision and branding of New Birth.

Fiscal Oversight

● Process invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders related to the Creative and Experience departments.

● Ensure purchases align with budgetary guidelines and maintain accurate records for financial accountability.

● Coordinate with the Finance Department to track spending, forecast needs, and ensure timely vendor payments.

Qualifications & Experience

● Bachelor’s degree required; preferred areas of study include Business Administration, Project Management, Communication, or Ministry Leadership.

● 3–5+ years of experience in high-level executive support, ministry operations, creative leadership, or project management.

● Strong familiarity with church environments, especially large-scale or multi-faceted ministries.

● Proven ability to lead teams, manage high-stakes projects, and operate with discretion and excellence.

Required Competencies

● Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

● Spiritually mature, emotionally intelligent, and relationally strong.

● Skilled in strategic thinking and problem-solving under pressure.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Planning Center Online, Basecamp, or comparable platforms.

● Demonstrated creativity, resourcefulness, and a drive for continuous improvement.

● Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment with grace and resilience.

● Deep understanding of worship culture, branding, and the importance of the Sunday experience.

Work Environment & Availability

● Primarily on-site with occasional evening or weekend responsibilities as needed for events, rehearsals, or services.

● Travel is minimal but may be required for off-site events or conferences at the discretion of the Executive Pastor.
