Job Description

We are seeking a Journeyman Pipe Fitter with proven field experience to join our team located in Jenkinsville, SC . This position is critical to maintaining a productive workflow by preparing, fitting, and staging pipe for welding. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled fitter who can stay ahead of the welders, ensuring steady progress and minimal downtime on the job site.

Pay rate: $28.00/hr-$30.00/hr (depending on experience)

Hours: Mon-Thurs 7am-5:30pm, Friday 7am-3:30pm

Project duration: 3-4 months

Location: Jenkinsville, SC 29065

Key Responsibilities:

• Precisely lay out, cut, fit, and prep carbon steel pipe (3”, 4”, 6”, and 10” diameters) in coordination with welding crews.
• Interpret and work from isometric drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs.
• Measure and mark pipe accurately using industry-standard tools and techniques.
• Fit and tack pipe and components using cutting torches, grinders, and beveling equipment.
• Coordinate with welders to ensure proper joint alignment, fit-up, and support throughout the process.
• Maintain safe work practices and comply with OSHA and site-specific safety regulations.
• Work closely with supervisors and other trades to maintain project timelines and quality standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Pipe Fitter.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex pipe drawings and layout work.
• Skilled in prepping and fitting carbon steel pipe (primarily 3" to 10").
• Must have own tools (torch, levels, square, grinder, etc.) and PPE.
• Able to work in fast-paced environments and support multiple welders efficiently.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• NCCER or other recognized pipefitter certification.
• Previous experience in industrial, refinery, or plant environments.
• Familiarity with supporting TIG and Stick welding operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in elevated or confined areas for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in all weather and industrial conditions.
