Job Posting Information The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department is seeking to hire a full-time Public Health Educator II to join the tobacco prevention team.
This position will guide communication, education, and community outreach efforts with the Tobacco Free Lancaster County coalition and specific task forces. Candidates will be responsible for researching, improving, and implementing projects that address current and emerging tobacco products, marketing tactics, and reducing tobacco use health disparities. Candidates should have experience working with grants, media and website management, working with partners, and be familiar with legislation. Experience facilitating coalitions and committees is helpful. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, collaborative, skilled in both verbal and written communication, and able to work independently and with diverse populations. This position will partner with community organizations, healthcare providers, schools, and local leaders to advance tobacco prevention goals and promote healthier environments in Lincoln and Lancaster County.
Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in public health education, public administration or related field with two years of experience in public health education; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is necessary for the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.
