Overview Systems Administrator position at BRG within Second Sight Solutions (SSS), a subsidiary of BRG’s Healthcare Analytics practice (HAP). SSS supports and advises pharmaceutical manufacturers on 340B program challenges and the broader healthcare ecosystem. The Systems Administrator is a critical IT role supporting the SSS professionals in a Mac and Cloud Service environment, requiring a motivated problem solver with strong customer service and technical skills. Location options: New York, Washington DC, or remote with support required for SSS locations globally. Travel may be requested occasionally. Core BRG office hours are 8:00am-7:00pm local time. Responsibilities Assist with onboarding and offboarding of MacOS users, including device setup and revoking access as needed. Respond to requests for assistance related to deployed hardware and software. Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot MacBooks remotely and onsite; troubleshoot mobile devices (tablets and smartphones). Troubleshoot MacOS issues and interactions with Microsoft 365, Jamf, FileVault, and endpoint security software (Defender); collaborate with security team for continuous monitoring. Assist end users with remediation of security findings; manage user access across software systems within the 340B practice; standardize workstation software configurations on MacBooks. Support usage of COTS software applications and manage Microsoft Entra ID (user settings). Work as part of IT Services team; coordinate IT actions with IT Services Manager, vendors, and clients. Administer Help Desk software; perform regular IT policy audits and identify potential security risks. Manage updates and patches for MacOS and installed software with minimal user disruption; develop and implement disaster recovery plans for MacOS devices (backups and data recovery). Communicate across teams and contribute to Employee Training; research new software/hardware; coordinate IT project actions and upgrades. Provide support for Mac-based systems (MacOS, iOS, mobile devices); diagnose and troubleshoot Apple hardware/software; deploy and maintain laptops/desktops remotely and onsite. Assist SSS team with questions on COTS software (e.g., Office 365, Adobe, Intune); emphasize Apple technology as part of multi-platform environments. Additional tasks as directed by the IT Services Manager. Job Requirements Minimum 4-6 years IT experience in a similar role. VIP customer service focus with strong communication skills (verbal and written); professional attitude. IT Service Management ticketing experience (e.g., Jira). Strong knowledge of MacOS, desktop and network security, software deployment, and Microsoft Office 365 in a professional services environment. Ability to solve complex problems, multitask, and prioritize workload and projects. General knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Routing, Subnetting), anti-virus, backups, and remote access technologies. Location flexibility: based in New York, Washington DC, or remote; must support clients in all SSS locations globally; occasional travel may be required with reimbursed expenses. On-call and overtime may be required; core hours allow shift within 8:00am-7:00pm local. Hands-on experience with device management software such as Jamf; able to deploy/configure/manage Apple devices at scale; knowledge of encryption, 2FA, and secure device management. Experience managing IT projects, including hardware/software rollouts, upgrades, and migrations. Attention to detail with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Preferred Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP), Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT), or similar Apple credentials. ITIL 4 Foundation certification; CompTIA A+ certification.
