Jefferson St. Green Bay, WI Job Type: Full-time Job Number: 2025-082025 Department: Information Technology Opening Date: 08/20/2025 Closing Date: 8/31/2025 11:59 PM Central Job Summary In this position, you will be assisting the Senior Engineers in planning, designing, documenting, and implementing information technology to support the ongoing needs of Brown County departments. Under the guidance of the Senior Engineers, you will: Maintain highly reliable systems through proper configuration and regular system monitoring. Maintain excellent working relationships with team members, vendors and other departments involved in IT projects. Rely on IT knowledge and professional discretion to achieve departmental objectives. Work independently and receive minimal guidance on work assignments. Assist end users in resolving hardware and software issues by fielding requests, diagnosing problems and fixing issues while providing exceptional customer service. Essential Duties Recommends, analyzes, investigates and tests new technology and enhancements. Ensures technology meets IT standards for security, compatibility and standardization Maintain and implement monitoring and alerting to help manage and ensure Service Level Agreements Assist with Active Directory, Windows Servers, SQL, NAC, DNS, Veeam, VMware, M365 applications and other software. Monitor automation tools to configure, test, and deploy system wide installations and updates. Assists with maintaining security on all end point devices. Review security alerts and identify necessary actions required. Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues related to enterprise systems. Monitor systems using provided monitoring tools. Maintain documentation of best practices and support procedures. Train and mentor tier 1 and 2 support resources across teams. Provide tier 2/ tier 3 support for escalations related to specified systems. Seeks and participates in training opportunities to stay current on best practices. Proactively research and recommend updates and upgrades to systems, analyze potential impacts, and implement as appropriate. Maintains hardware inventory and software licensing. Serves as liaison between end users, vendors, hardware and software manufacturers. Participates in 24/7 on-call rotation. Follows county policies and best practices related to information security; exercises good judgment to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Brown County computer systems and electronic records; supports compliance with CJIS, HIPAA, and other information security regulations.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

Telephones, computers, printers, and other office equipment. Minimum Qualifications Required Education and Experience: Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field 1-3 years of cloud computing experience & server / database support experience Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, relevant certifications, and training. Licenses and Certification: Valid Driver's License required. Fingerprint/background clearance required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience with Microsoft 365 service suite such as Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM). Experience with Hypervisor software and host hardware. Knowledge of operating systems, system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery. Ability to create scripts in Python, Powershell, or other language. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. Excellent communication skills. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain records and reports timely and accurately. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work the required hours of the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Intermittent standing, walking and sitting; occasional driving. Using hand(s)/feet for repetitive single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, and operating controls. Occasional bending, twisting, squatting and reaching. Distinguishing sounds at various frequencies and volumes. Distinguishing people or objects at varied distances under a variety of light conditions.
